CCS Skateboarding
I created content and copy for CCS, the world’s greatest e-commerce skateboarding and footwear retailer. This included managing social media accounts with over 1.15 million followers, product enhancement and descriptions for thousands of hardgoods, apparel and shoes, and copywriting for email, SEO, blogs, and the famous CCS print catalog.
The CCS Catalog
Since the late 1980s, when they were known as California Cheap Skates, CCS produced mailorder catalogs that featured the latest skate gear, clothing, shoes, and accessories. We kept this tradition alive into the digital age to stand out amongst other large online skate shops as well as leverage the intense nostalgia that drives much of the interest of older demographics.
I did copywriting for the product categories and brands featured in the catalogs, as well as quality control for the included products. I also helped coordinate the interactive features and contests within the catalog to integrate with CCS’ social media outlets and online product pages.

CCS Social Media
I managed social media marketing efforts across several platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube. This included content scheduling, marketing team and brand coordination, product research, asset collection and editing, asset creation, copywriting, coordination with external brands, and data collection and analysis.
We specialized in creating fun, accessible content that harmonized with the product brand’s messaging and kept current with social media trends and conversations. With incredible flexibility and the ability to produce original photo and video assets with accompanying copy within hours, CCS is equally inclusive to skate historians as it was to new skaters and non-skating sneakerheads alike.

CCS Wax

CCS manufactures a large amount of their own products in both the skateboarding hardgoods and softgoods categories. These products range from skateboard decks and wheels to bearings, pants, stickers, and, of course, skate wax.
I was tasked with photographing and editing wax assets to be used for website product pages, on Amazon.com, and to be shared regularly on our social media channels.
